:: Introduction

The Andalusian Public Health System (APHS) Quality Plan establishes as its principle goal the development of a primary health care model based on healthcare process structuring. Healthcare Processes define the knowledge, ability and attitude skills that the professional should demonstrate, practise and build up during the course of his or her activities in order to develop these in accordance with established quality criteria.
The different elements of knowledge, abilities and attitudes required in professional activities within the APHS make up the professional skills maps which are a basic tool in order to implement a People Management model within the framework of Skills Mapping. This involves a vision of each person that forms part of the System and can be understood from three perspectives: Intellectual, professional and emotional.
